The particular one that I had purchased has two levels of wood balls that fit in two channels, also known as tracks. There are three balls in each channel; there is an upper channel and a lower channel.
The toy is approximately 8-1/2 inches wide by 4-1/2 inches tall.
I chose the wood toy so that it would last longer.
When I first put the toy out on the floor for our cat to play with, she didn't want to have anything to do with it. Not even with some encouragement of me playing with the balls.
The toy sat there for around a month, and then I had an idea. Perhaps some treats placed in strategic spots, i.e. on the cat toy, will entice her to at least take a closer look.
It worked. She ate one of the treats and began to play. Even while there was still another treat waiting on the other side of the toy.
And much to my delight, and my cat's delight too, she began to play with it, even when there weren't any treats on it. Yay!
Just as an fyi, the wood against wood can be a bit noisy, especially at night. For us, that hasn't happened too often, and we are just glad that she is enjoying her wood ball toy.
